GENERAL SUMMARY: Enhance the value of Madison Marquette's premiere downtown urban shopping destination, Pacific Place, through the leasing of temporary space to tenants on terms favorable to the Company. Design, curate and operate a Maker Market of brands and retailers. This position will be responsible for organizing the business and generating buzz and revenue. This includes filling vacant spaces with tenants that complement the property's redevelopment vision as well as activating the common area with alternative uses.
RESPONSIBILITIES: •Market, activate and lease space at the center through creation, operation and curation of a Maker Market within an inline space. This market is to contain a centralized POS system with a single operator. •Responsible for generating new lead and income, negotiating deals, and maintaining accounts. •Canvass region to locate and develop new retail concepts for the center. •Enhance value of the assigned center through traditional temporary specialty leasing of space to tenants on terms favorable to the Company •Achieve Maker Market and Specialty Income goals established for assigned center. •Work with marketing to determine appropriate social media outreach, blogger participation and implement social and pop-up events •Works with center team in preparing the budget and business plan for assigned center. •Ensure that the Maker Market and Specialty Leasing activities enhances the appearance of the shopping center and company visual merchandising requirements and standards of professionalism. •Assist in visual merchandising of tenant spaces where necessary. •Keep abreast of competitive Maker Market and Specialty Leasing trends industry/region areas and the areas of the assigned center. •Generate all license agreements for General Manager review and approval. •Monitor year to date progress, trouble shoot, identify problems, and work to develop solutions. •Attend appropriate seminars, conventions, trainings, and meetings. •Assist in the training, managing, coaching, and mentoring of center personnel related to Maker Market activities where necessary. SKILLS REQUIRED: •Developed sales skills and the ability to initiate sales contacts •Understanding of the specialty leasing process, rent structure and legal terminology •Strong analytical skills •Strong written and oral communication skills •Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills •Self-starter with strong organizational, planning and time management skills •Computer literacy: Excel, Microsoft Word, MRI •3-5 experience in a sales capacity •Above all, the candidate must possess a positive, professional approach, strong emphasis on excellent customer satisfaction, a sense of urgency and a desire to contribute to a successful team EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: •At least 3-5 experience in a sales capacity, with 5+ years preferred •A BA/BS degree and/or equivalent professional experience •Marketing experience a plus
