Promotional priority for Teamster employees runs from 8/15/2017 through 8/22/2017
This position is responsible for preventative maintenance, minor repair and inspection of building systems and components, and assisting in non-routine maintenance and repair of various types of equipment such as AHU’s, VAV’s, fan coil units, motors, pumps, etc. in Athletic Facilities. This position is also responsible for preventative maintenance on movable assets including material handling equipment and carts. Door maintenance on closers, handles and hinges is common.
Utilizes specialized skills to complete small projects according to precise construction criteria, including, but not limited to, shelving, racks, ramps, furniture, temporary risers, etc. Welding skills are preferred, but not required.
Primary Work Hours are 7:30am – 4:00pm. Some 2nd shift and/or weekends will be required and scheduled in advance based on event coverage needed.
Personnel Responsible For:
Part time staff- Student general laborers.
Inspects and lubricates fans, motors, bearings and other equipment. Replaces and adjusts belts and replaces filtering materials in all Athletic buildings. Cleans fan coils on roof top units and air handling units as well as diffusers and vents. Adjusts and repairs dampers. Assist with cooling tower cleaning, heating loops, chiller inspections. Completes routine door maintenance regularly, adjusting closer, handles and hinges as needed. (65%)
Conducts daily/weekly HVAC checks via visual and/or DDC controls inspections. Makes adjustments and monitors equipment. Trouble shoots hot/cold calls from building occupants. (10%)
Completion of small projects- including, but not limited to, hanging pictures/video monitors, shelving, partitions, touch up painting, etc. (25%)
This position start date is slated for November 1, 2017
This position is covered by the Teamsters Union. Union/Fair share deductions may be made.
Pay range is $20.27 - $25.42
Must be able to follow detailed written work orders, plans, and drawings.
Technical education/training in mechanical maintenance and/or applicable work experience to total four years. Education/training can count for no more than two of the four years.
Position requires ability to walk or stand for majority of the day; bend, climb, reach, kneel, carry, lift and push or pull 50 lbs or more.
