JOB PURPOSE: The National Product Manager directs the development of a comprehensive product management life cycle for Coatings and Sealants in the roofing and waterproofing market segments
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITES:
Identify market opportunities in the Roofing and Waterproofing market, including pricing and market strategies, estimates potential sales, identifies market, distribution/channel issues, and manages the product portfolio through launch and phase-out.
Coordinate product introduction and market exploitation with marketing, sales, and Codes departments to ensure maximum penetration of the coatings and sealant segment.
Define and identify strategic and innovative product development opportunities with R&D consistent with the company’s core competencies responding to direction from Lead Team using a Stage Gate product development process.
Source and identify potential private label customers including strategic partnerships and joint venture opportunities
Plan, organize, and coordinate assigned projects and programs to ensure accomplishment of financial/budgetary goals and optimum allocation of resources.
Coaches and mentors the Product Manager in an effort to align his/her talents and work output with the various functional department objectives.
Manage resources to effectively execute assigned projects and programs in a timely manner.
Lead program planning with Sales leadership to ensure identification of appropriate manufacturing schedules, goals, design criteria, costs, and similar considerations.
Work proactively to promote teamwork at all levels of the Company.
Actively promote continuous improvement activities and offer positive suggestions for improvements and innovations.
Effectively communicates with co-workers, management, staff, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Conform with and abide by all company regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, and instructions.
Respond promptly when returning telephone calls and replying to correspondence, faxes, and emails.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Requires Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a related building products manufacturing environment
Six Sigma certification a plus.
