The Minneapolis College of Art and Design has an immediate opening for a full-time, benefits-eligible Custodian in our Facilities Custodial Department.
35 hours per week
4:00 am to 11:30 am
Tuesday - Saturday

Primary Function: Perform general and detailed custodial work in academic buildings, apartment buildings and grounds to provide a clean, attractive and safe campus environment.
May be subject to being on-call; carry a two-way radio; working with hazardous materials; schedule changes based on the needs of the College; work long hours to complete/perform scheduled or emergency functions and projects. Required to work under adverse weather conditions and varying temperatures. Some projects may require traveling to various locations, both on and off campus.
Must be able to work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs. Must be able to work for extended periods of time walking, stooping, bending, kneeling and standing for long periods. Will be required to do own laboring which may involve heavy lifting of supplies, equipment, furniture, trash and recycling (occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent required. Basic knowledge of custodial equipment and supplies helpful. Must be able to read and understand product information labels, SDS sheets, work orders, written instructions, and verbal instructions. Must be available to work long hours to complete/perform scheduled or emergency functions and project.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be required to undergo a background check. Applicants must also undergo a Kari Koskinen Manager Background Check. Must have valid Minnesota driver’s license; satisfactory Motor Vehicle DMV Check required.
