This position is responsible for self-performing roof and exterior façade assessments as part of our Building Envelope Team. The assessor completes all aspects of assessments including field work, research, data compilation and report preparation for each project, depending on the scope of work and client needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform roofing, waterproofing, and building enclosure field observations and/or testing as directed
Work outdoors on construction sites performing observation visits, existing condition surveys and destructive and non-destructive tests in accordance with industry standards
Conduct field investigations and condition assessments and develop construction documents, details and specifications
Complete Property Condition Assessments (PCAs), and Construction Loan Monitoring (CLM) services
Writing summary and technical reports
Preparation of Plans and Specifications, contract documents and cost proposals
Evaluate contractor performance to ensure project deliverables and quality standards are achieved
Communicate with and coordinate the review of construction documents with the project architect, client/owner representatives, sub-consultants/contractors, contractors and other team members
Contribute to maintaining and improving quality control
Ensures on-time delivery of reports and accompanying correspondence to clients
Communicates with clients and management to discuss and develop solutions to recognized concerns

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in architecture, engineering or construction management and 5 years commercial building evaluation or commercial design experience with a general understanding of all building systems: site work, structural, building envelope, and MEP
