OBJECTIVE/OVERVIEW: The mission of Community-University Health Care Center (CUHCC) is to seek health equity in our community by advancing the well-being of diverse people. CUHCC is unique in the nation as one of the few Federally Qualified Health Care Centers that is also part of a university, offering its employees the rewards of community-based clinical care of underserved patients in an enriching, vibrant environment of learners and educators. The individual in this position will provide psychiatric care to a mixed patient panel of children, adolescents and adults in an outpatient setting that has medical, mental health and dental services all under the same roof. In addition to direct patient care, a part of this provider’s role will include consultation to primary care and program advisement. Over time the expectation would be this provider becomes involved with teaching and training. This position has no call duties.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: This position reports to Charlotte Szabo, Interim Psychiatry Lead. Madhuri Shors, MD, Interim Psychiatry Director, will provide clinical supervision support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnostic formulation and treatment planning and follow-up visits to children, adolescent and adult clinic patients (90%) 2. Participates in and provides leadership to quality improvement/assurance activities including peer review, and interdisciplinary case consultation (5%) 3. Partners with Psychiatry Lead and Psychiatry Director to enhance child-adolescent psychiatry program (5%)

ADDITIONAL NOTES: This position may be eligible for Federal student loan repayment under current guidelines.
This position is eligible for tuition reimbursement at the University of Minnesota, under the current Board of Regents Policies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Current Minnesota medical license (M.D. or D.O.) 2. Graduate of residency in Adult Psychiatry with completion of Child / Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship 3. Board-eligible or Board-certified in both Adult Psychiatry and Child-Adolescent Psychiatry 4. Experience and strong interest in caring for patients of diverse sociocultural backgrounds and comfort with interpreted visits. 5. Experience in interdisciplinary, integrated team-based care with medical providers, care coordinators, and community case management / ARMHS providers 6. Excellent communication and time management skills and able to work cooperatively in a team setting with members of other disciplines 7. Able to meet performance standards for documentation and billing in an electronic medical record 8. Able to contribute to, adapt to, and welcome process changes to improve clinical flow and patient care outcomes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Post-graduate training and/ or post-residency work experience in a community clinic setting 2. Certified as a Child Psychiatrist (this posting is for an Child-Adolescent Board Certified Psychiatrist but dual certification is an advantage) 3. Fluency in one of CUHCC’s dominant languages (Spanish, Somali, Hmong, Vietnamese, Lao).
