Alert The U.S. Department of Homeland Security recently issued an emergency advisory about an elevated threat of cybersecurity attacks targeting hospitals and health care systems in the U.S. These threats can come by phone calls, text messages or emails. PRIMARY FUNCTION: Locksmith - To maintain, repair, replace and install locks, and door hardware. Maintain the inventory of various keys and cut new keys per request. Carpenter - To complete scheduled Preventive Maintenance of various doors on schedule. Maintain accurate inventory of rated door assemblies. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Complete Preventive Maintenance of rated door assemblies per NFPA requirements
- Installs, replaces, modifies and repairs various doors and door hardware
- Disassembles all types of locks (i.e. cylinder, rim, combination, lockers) for the purpose of repair and/or reinstallation and provide key security
- Complete assign Corrective Work Orders accurately and timely
- Interact with various vendors and complete requisitions for purchases
- Schedule service calls for vendors when necessary
- Installs and repairs building components and structures (i.e. roofs, parapets, doors, curtain walls, flooring substrate, partitions, borrow lights, ceilings, and general construction carpentry.)
- Builds and repairs casework, (i.e. cabinets, counter tops, work stations, shelves, and related items)
- Performs and/or oversees remodeling jobs and minor alteration project work.
- Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
- Daily usage of computer skills for Outlook and other software programs
- Performs other related duties as required and assist other crafts as needed.
Location: Primary: Christiana Hospital Secondary: Wilmington Hospital Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm *Off hours may be required to support departmental needs EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: - High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of four (4) years Trade School with Journeyman's Certification.
- Four (4) years experience in the Carpentry field as a Journeyman
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: - Journeyman Carpenter Certification.
- To become a Certified Locksmith within twelve months of hire
