Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies is a 350-bed facility dedicated exclusively to the needs of women and babies. As Florida’s leader in women’s healthcare, Orlando Health Winnie Palmer offers care for every stage of life from preventive well-woman screenings to high-risk childbirth delivery to postmenopausal care. Services include: comprehensive fetal diagnostics, labor and delivery, high-risk care for mom and baby, a level II and level III neonatal intensive care unit (one of the largest and most advanced in the nation), maternal intensive care and gynecologic and surgical services. Annually, nearly 14,000 babies are expected to be born at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer, making it the busiest labor and delivery unit in Florida and one of the busies in the nation. The hospital is also home to the state’s only in-utero surgery program to repair Spina bifida defects. Orlando Health Winnie Palmer is joined to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children by a two-story connector bridge that enables specialized physicians and services to be shared among women, babies and children Winnie Palmer Hospital, part of Orlando Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Neonatal Intensive Care The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who is an expert in evidence-based nursing practice within a patient population/specialty area. CNSs advance the practice of nursing and facilitate quality patient care in collaboration with the health care team appropriate to their patient population/specialty area through integration of the following essential characteristics: Leadership, Clinical Expertise, Collaborator, Educator, Coach/Mentor, Consultant, and Researcher. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will perform acts of advanced nursing diagnosis and treatment of health status alterations, health promotion, and disease prevention. In addition, they may also perform acts of medical diagnosis, treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, prescribe pharmaceutical, therapeutic, and durable medical equipment as authorized within the framework of the facilities’ credentialing process.
